Panoramic shot of Canyon Cove at the back
We left Manila at around 7:30 in the morning. It was only supposed to be a four hour drive but due to VERY heavy traffic (hey, we left on Maundy Thursday... People were leaving the metro too!), it took us seven hours to get there.
Of course, we had to stop over for some lunch. It was crucial that the group had to eat at the right time since we had seniors and diabetics with us.
For lunch, we ate at a place called RSM. It was in Tagaytay, home of the world's smallest volcano, Taal Volcano! BTW, did you know that Crater Lake, is the world's largest lake on an island in a lake on an island? The lake being inside Taal Volcano (Volcano Island) which is surrounded by Taal Lake, which can be found in the Philippines. Cool right?
Anyway, RSM is a two-floor cafeteria type restaurant. Ithas a homey aura as its interior are is made of wood. There is a vast patio surrounded by potted plants and flowers, most notably orchids. The patio and the second floor has a panoramic view of Taal Lake. However, the restaurant is not air conditioned. But don't fret. The climate in Tagaytay is cool... You won't break a sweat.
Like I said, it RSM is a cafeteria type. It's like the cafeterias we had in school, except RSM has much more class. The restaurant specializes in grilled seafood that might have been caught in Taal Lake. We had the usual pork barbeque, grilled catfish or hito in Tagalog, grilled squid, and lechon kawali. It was served with a hearty bowl of bulalo or bone marrow soup. I didn't eat the lechon kawali because it goes against my ethics. The barbeque marinade was delicious, but the meat was a bit tough though. Same goes with the squid. The flavor was amazing but the meat was hard. The catfish/hito, on the other hand, was DIVINE. The meat was tender and flavorful. You can really taste both the smokey flavor and the fish's natural flavor.
Here are some pictures I took from the second floor
FASTFORWARD. ZING ZING ZIIING!
Finally, we have reached Canyon Cove. The first thing that you may notice are the old lodging areas. Heads up to the staff there! You might want to tear it down because it's a major downside to your otherwise beautiful resort. Ironically, I found it disgusting yet intriguing. AND I WAS FREAKED OUT BY IT. But don't worry, it's not very scary.
The lobby is very grand. High ceilings, open floors, beautiful chandeliers. The downside? NO AC. It gets pretty warm there in the day, especially if it's around 12 o' clock since that is their standard check out time (which means crowded area). Anyway, it leads out to a foyer overlooking the beach and the pools.
The room we stayed on was beautiful. There was one big bed that fits at most four people. To the side, there is a bed loft which can fit three people. Unlike the rest of the hotel, the room is air conditioned 24/7. It wasn't too cold or too hot. It was just right. There was a balcony that overlooks the beach. It was covered by trees though. The downside? The staff didn't fix the loft properly. When we got into the room, I saw that the mattress was sticking out and there was no blanket. According to housekeeping, the bedding was too small. Didn't they notice that? Tsk tsk.
View from the balcony
The amenities were dazzling. There were four pools, two adult and two kiddie. These pools have an amazing view of the beach. It's like swimming and sight seeing simultaneously. The depth and the temperature? I actually can't say since I didn't actually swim.
The beach was to die for. SERIOUSLY. The sand was clean, fine, and had a creamy color. The ocean had an amazing blue hue. I even found the dead seaweed amazing. Weird right? I only waded in the water since I have a perm and wouldn't want to ruin it.
This is the view of the resort at night:
Here are my 'fun' photos:

Summer Forever ♥
Selfie in the room!
I wore my yellow class shirt and a pair of pink board shorts with my black sequined Fit Flops while surveying the place. We just stopped by the beach to take photos
Beach baby ♥
Two arms baby. Freaky deeky.
For swimwear, I wore a black and white bikini top with matching black shorts. However, my legs were easily irritated by the sand. And now I have a rash.
After the wade, I wore a green see-through cover up I had in storage for years.
For dinner, I wore a multi-colored tube maxi dress that I find tres chic
CONCLUSION:
