From A Cat's Perspective

Ah Halloween... One of the most festive holidays where anyone can dress up as anything and no one will judge you, where tricking someone for not giving you candy is deemed as appropriate and acceptable.

Yet for Ateneo de Manila University students, Halloween is the time to say goodbye to the stresses and negative vibes of the past semester, and say hello to SEMBREAK (SPRAKBREAK duh).

Following tradition, Health Sciences Society (my home org, woot!) holds an annual SEMENDER, a party for all Health Sciences majors to help them bond with each other and release all the stresses from the previous sem by means of dancing, dressing up, and BOOZE.

College Entrance Tests: The Series (University of the Philippines)

It's the end of May and for high school seniors, it only means one thing... HELLO COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMS. This is the point where your future lies in your current choices. Move a little? It will change your future.

So, I'm totally writing this from my own experience. I took the exams last year and now, I'll be taking up BS Health Sciences at Ateneo De Manila University. Heads up to seniors planning to take up medicine. This is actually a really good pre-med, or so I hear. According to some sources, you not only get to study medicine, but you can also get to study business at the same time. Anyway, I'd like to share some tips for the seniors who are going to take the CETs. This is the first of a series of articles regarding CETs since each college has its own way of grading.

THIS IS AN ARTICLE ABOUT THE UPCAT.

Batangas Getaway: Review of Canyon Cove Resort

Last April 17, our family, along with my mom's best friend's family, went to Canyon Cove (located in Nasugbu, Batangas) for some much needed R&R. It was a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan cities. Here's what I have to say about our stay there.

Event #4: Teatro De Historia

Looong overdue post. Seriously. This event happened wayy in October/November.

In our school, we have this 'moving play' sponsored by the Herodotus Society (a group of history loving kids) that it is held in our main stairwell. Our stairwell has 6 flat levels and for each and every level, there's a stage setting depicting a unique story about history. Before, we called it tableau. Now, we called it Teatro de Historia.

Last year, we didn't have this for confidential reasons. Luckily, we were approved to do it this year, when my friends and I were seniors. Not only that, it was the last year of Miss Blesilda Bernardo's term as Herodotus Society adviser (the term lasts for four years, unless the teacher resigns before his/her term). It was a big deal for Jolin, the president; Reine, the vice president; and I, the secretary. Luckily, the turnout was great and the product? Awesome.

Shooting for Science

Every year in my school, we have to do a project called "Photo Essay." In this project, the details vary each year. For instance, when I was in first year, we had to capture a scene with biological factors in it while in second year, we had to make a campaign to care for our earth.. In my junior year, we also had to make a campaign to reduce the trash. For this year, our teacher told us to dress up as a physicist, or maybe just dress up LIKE a physicist, and show an invention by a physicist.

Patricia Ong's Sweet Sixteen! (12272013)

We all know how Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (TGIF) goes.... We went streaking in the park, skinny dipping in the dark. Then had a menage a trois.  Well, last December 27, we pretty much blew the whole song and donned our semi-formals to celebrate Patricia Ong's Sweet Sixteen!
